Function :

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the Safety of the construction site using the developed HSE management systems and daily interactions with Management and Craft on site (Engie and Contractors).

- Support/implementation of operational monitoring of occupational Safety and construction progress on the construction site of the project site

- Operational support of the project, HSE and site management regarding occupational Safety, Health and Environmental protection in the execution of construction and in the updating of plans, assembly instructions and risk assessments / process descriptions

- Implementation and control of the HSE plan / construction site regulations, adaptation, communication and implementation of legal and corporate guidelines on occupational Safety, Health and Environmental protection, especially with regard to Subcontractors

- Contribute to the development and improvement of concepts and processes of occupational Safety on construction sites.

- Implementation of HSE instruction and training plans, implementation of HSE instructions, toolbox talks, etc.

- Communication with Line Responsables, Foremen and crews of Subcontractors and the Project Team. Ensures Safety and First Aid training is comprehensive and effective to educate workers about Safety, Policies, Laws, and Practices. Passes any Safety related information down to those in the field using/attending focused toolbox talks or at morning huddle.

- Operational support of the project, HSE and Site Management regarding Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental protection in the execution of construction and in the updating of plans, assembly instructions and risk assessments / process descriptions.

- Implementation and control of the HSE plan / construction site regulations, adaptation, communication and implementation of legal and corporate guidelines on occupational Safety, Health and Environmental protection, especially with regard to Subcontractors.

- Contribute to the development and improvement of concepts and processes of occupational Safety on the construction site(s).

- Able and willing to work 70% in the Field – 30% office.

- Implementation of HSE instruction and training plans, implementation of HSE instructions, toolbox talks, etc.

 

Profile :

- Minimum 5 Years of relevant work experience as HSE Professional in EPC and EPCM Projects ideally for the Oil, Power & Gas industry.

- Excellent English and French (written and spoken) is a must. Skills in Dutch or other languages will be an advantage.

- Holder of Level II (Preventieadviseur/Conselier de Prevention) or MVK (Netherlands Qualification).

- Prior Construction Safety Supervision experience on large Construction Projects.

- Ability to adapt and respond to requirements of Project or Client.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Strong organization and coordination skills.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).

- It is stressed that the foregoing does not represent a complete list of responsibilities and that may be required to carry out other duties which might reasonably be expected by Safety Management.

- This role operates in a Matrix organization. As such the successful candidate will require a strong task driven approach balanced with high Emotional Quotient (working in teams, self-awareness, empathy, motivational, team building, and persuading) skills and the ability to encourage, persuade, enforce good Safety Management practices on site.

- Fluency in French and in English is mandatory.
